Disney + has a long list of classic movies that people love and cherish. One of their most beloved films is the 2007 movie Enchanted.
Now, 14 years later, Disney is finally releasing its highly anticipated sequel, Disenchanted. Let’s take a look at what we can expect from this magical sequel.
The Storyline of Disenchanted
In the original movie Enchanted, we watched as Giselle (Amy Adams) was transported from her animated world to the real world in modern-day New York City.
In Disenchanted, Giselle still lives in the real world with her prince charming Robert (Patrick Dempsey). The two are happily married and have a daughter named Morgan (Gabriella Baldacchino) and a new baby.
But things are not all perfect for this family because Giselle begins to question her happily ever after and why she was brought to the real world in the first place.
With the help of some familiar faces, Giselle will embark on an adventure filled with magic and music to find out where she belongs and if true love really does conquer all.
The story of Disenchanted picks up 10 years after the events of Enchanted.
The family moved from New York to the suburbs, which Giselles feels is the closest she will have to her home. Right After, Prince Edward appears with a gift to Giselle that puts the whole movie in motion.
Is Gisella about to become the evil Stepmother?
The Cast of Disenchanted
The original cast of Enchanted returns in the sequel with Amy Adams reprising her role as Giselle, Patrick Dempsey returning as Robert Philip, and James Marsden coming back as Prince Edward.
Joining them are some new faces, such as Maya Rudolph, who plays Malvina and Idina Menzel, who plays Nancy. These talented actors will bring us into this enchanting adventure that promises fun for all ages!
What We Can Expect From Disenchanted
Fans can expect even more singing, dancing, and magical adventures from this sequel!
This time around, though, there will be an added layer of emotional depth that will make viewers laugh, cry, or maybe even both! Amy Adams is fantastic, as always, and Maya Rudolph is incredibly funny; the movie has a lot of haha moments, thanks to Maya.
The Music of Disenchanted
Disney movies are always known for their musical numbers, and Disenchanted looks like it won’t disappoint either! This time, the film’s soundtrack put into use the beautiful voice of Idina Menzel, and why they wouldn’t after she sang one of the most popular Disney songs ever, “let it go.”
Music fans can also look forward to some exciting new original songs composed specifically for the movie by Alan Menken, the composer behind all your favourite Disney classics.
Disenchanted looks like it will be another hit for Disney! It has plenty of good moments with a bit more emotional depth than its predecessor Enchanted had almost 15 years ago.
The movie is ready to stream on Disney Plus all around the world. Good movie to watch with the family this holiday season.
